ドリフトやジャーキングなどと比べ、テクトロは特別な技術は不要で、だれでも簡単にできる。

ヘチ際にシンキング系のルアー（バイブレーションやワーム）を落とし、ラインをボトムまで落とす、真ん中らへんまで巻いたら、、

岸際に沿って歩きながらルアーをトローリングさせるだけの簡単な釣り。

歩く速度は、ゆっくり散歩するくらいの速さが基本。その場の状況によって速度を調整する。
